If a reading has helped me continue on my roads after burnout, that was definitely one of Thich Nhat Hanh’s books. Enjoy with me now five sayings that enlightened my eyes and warmed up my heart during those difficult days of fatigue and confusion.
Thich Nhat Hanh is a Vietnamese Buddist Monk. He received the Pacem in Terris Peace and Freedom Award in 2015, and Gandhi Mandela peace medal and Luxembourg Peace Award in 2019 . His work on mindful living and compassion has inspired me on love and compassion for myself and others. Here are my favourite quotes:
“Most of us have been running. Practice stopping“.Thich Nhat Hanh
Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joyThich Nhat Hanh
When we give ourselves the chance to let go of all our tension, the body’s natural capacity to heal itself can begin to workThich Nhat Hanh
If you abandon the present moment, you cannot live the moments of your daily life deeply.Thich Nhat Hanh
Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear.Thich Nhat Hanh
Start practising each saying today. Like me, inspire yourself to “stop”, to “smile”, to “let go of tension”, to “stay in the present moment”, and to “never give up hope”.
These simple rules have helped me getting out of difficult time. And today one year after, I find back energy and joy to restart a new journey, build a business I love and be present each moment for my children.
